This week, we will:

 

Monday, 2/15/16

Art Day

·         I will pass out weekly word lists, and spelling work menus.

·         I will introduce Unit 17 with a PowerPoint and discussion, and we will complete Exercise 17A.

·         Into the Woods- ITW:

    • Reread Scene 1 as necessary.

·         Students will listen to a recording of the Gettysburg Address, and we will discuss its historical significance.  Students will then work in groups to “translate” this speech into modern terms.  We will work as a class to form our modern Gettysburg Address. 

Work Stations

·         Work on Scene 1 Questions.

·         Work on Wordly Wise Unit 17 Exercises.

·         Work on Spelling Activities.

·         Read quietly.

HW: Lit. Circle Parent Approval Form due Wednesday. Finish Wordly Wise Exercise 17A.  Read for 30 minutes.

 

Tuesday, 2/16/16

Furnari—Library

·         We will correct 17A, and begin Exercise 17B.

·         We will finish a PowerPoint that examines several of the major battles and events of the Civil War.  Students will take notes.  We will watch the Abraham Lincoln Brain Pop video, and take the Brain Pop Quiz, stopping to clarify as needed.

·         Into the Woods- ITW:

    • Correct Scene 1 Questions.
    • Begin reading through Scene 2.

Work Stations

·         Work on Wordly Wise Unit 17 Exercises.

·         Work on Spelling Activities.

·         Read quietly.

HW: Lit. Circle Parent Approval Form due TOMORROW. Finish Wordly Wise Exercise 17B.  Read for 30 minutes. 

 

Wednesday, 2/17/16

Computer Lab:

F: 9:40-10:25 a.m., 1:15-2:00 p.m.

W: 8:00-8:45 a.m., 2:05-2:50 p.m.

·         We will correct 17B, and begin Exercise 17E.

·         Students will turn in their Parent Approval Form.  Lit. Circle Assignment #1 will be due Thursday, March 3rd.

·         Into the Woods:

    • Finish reading through Scene 2.
    • Begin Scene 2 Questions.

 

·         We will review important events of the Civil War.  Students will be taking an open note, open textbook test on Thursday.

Work Stations

·         Work on Scene 2 Questions.

·         Work on Wordly Wise Unit 17 Exercises.

·         Work on Spelling Activities.

·         Review Civil War Notes.

·         Read quietly.

HW: Finish Wordly Wise Exercise 17D & E.  Read for 30 minutes. 

Thursday, 2/18/16
Weiman—Library

·         We will correct 17E, grade, and begin Exercise 17D. turn in Wordly Wise Pages.

·         Students will complete an assessment of the Civil War.  They will be able to use their notes and textbook.

·         Into the Woods:

    • Act Out Scene 2.

Work Stations

·         Complete Scene 2 Questions.

·         Work on Wordly Wise Exercises.

·         Work on Spelling Activities.

·         Read quietly.

HW: Read for 30 minutes.  Spelling TEST and Wordly Wise QUIZ TOMORROW.

 

Friday, 2/19/16

·         We will correct 17D, grade, and turn in Wordly Wise Pages.

·         We will wrap our study of the Civil War, and discuss parts of the Reconstruction.

·         Into the Woods:

    • Correct Scene 2 Questions.
    • Begin reading through Scene 3.

Work Stations

·         Work on Lit. Circle Assignment.

·         Turn in Spelling Activities.

·         Take Spelling Test.

·         Take Wordly Wise Unit 17 Quiz.

HW:  Read and Rest.
