This week, we will:

 

Monday, 2/22/16

Art Day

·          Finish reading through Scene 3.

·          Begin Scene 3 Questions.

·          Students will begin a grammar review packet, reinforcing proper use of quotation marks, hyphens, and colons.  Additionally, we will reinforce our knowledge of these concepts with BrainPop videos on Dialogue, Hyphens & Dashes, and Colons.

Work Stations

·          Work on Scene 3 Questions.

·          Read Lit. Circle Book, and work on Lit. Circle 1 Questions.

·          Work on Grammar Packet.

HW: Work on Grammar Packet.  Read for 30 minutes.

 

Tuesday, 2/23/16

Reading DLA – Keep our own homeroom all day.

Furnari—Library

·          Students will complete a Reading DLA to assist in determining readiness for the upcoming STAAR assessments.

·          Act Out Scene 3.

·          Students will plan and draft an on-topic written composition in response to a writing prompt on the Civil War.

Work Stations

·          Read Lit. Circle Book, and work on Lit. Circle 1 Questions.

·          Work on Grammar Packet.

HW: Work on Grammar Packet.  Read for 30 minutes.

 

Wednesday, 2/24/16

Early Dismissal @ 12:30 pm

Chinese New Year Celebration – Report to Cafeteria at 8:52 am – Program from 9:00-9:45

Lunch in Classrooms

·          Finish Scene 3 Questions.

·          Review & Collect Scene 3 Questions.

·          We will review the Reading DLA that students took yesterday, completing a reflection, and focusing on key questions or standards which were difficult for students.

Work Stations

·          Read Lit. Circle Book, and work on Lit. Circle 1 Questions.

·          Work on Grammar Packet.

HW: Work on Grammar Packet.  Read for 30 minutes.

 

Thursday, 2/25/16
Math DLA – Keep our partner’s homeroom all day.

Weiman—Library

·          Students will complete a Math DLA to assist in determining readiness for the upcoming STAAR assessments.

Friday, 2/26/16

·          We will watch the “Heartland” episode of America The Story of Us, and complete Video Response Questions to ensure accurate comprehension.  This episode deals with the time period immediately following the Civil War.

·          Students will correct and turn in their Grammar Packets, and will take a short Grammar Review Quiz.

·          Students will finish their on-topic written compositions in response to a writing prompt on the Civil War.

Work Stations

·          Read Lit. Circle Book.

·          Work on Lit. Circle 1 Questions.

HW:  Read and Rest.  Work on Lit. Circle 1 Questions.
