This week, we will:

 

Monday, 2/23/15

Furnari - Library

·         Collect last week’s reading log, and pass out new reading log.

·         Introduce Wordly Wise Unit 17 Vocabulary with a PowerPoint & discussion, and Begin WW 17A.

·         Act out Scenes 4 and 5.

·         Finish answering questions for Scenes 4 and 5.

Workstation Groups

·         Finish Scene 4-5 questions for ITW as needed.

·         Read independently to self.

·         Continue working on Lit Circle #3 questions.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it. Complete WW 17A.  Work on Lit Circle #3 Questions, due Thursday.

 

Tuesday, 2/24/15

·         Review WW 17A.  Begin 17E.

·         Review comprehension questions for Scenes 3-5 of Into the Woods, Jr.

·         Ensure comprehension of drama as a genre, drawing conclusions, and making inferences based on evidence from the text, as well as seeing where characters and conflict advanced the story.

·         Introduce final project for Into the Woods, Jr.

·         Work on activity that looks at the resumes of leaders from the Civil War.

·         Students will make inferences and defend their decision as a table group to the class.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it.  Complete WW 17E.  Work on Lit Circle #3 Questions, due Thursday.

 

Wednesday, 2/25/15

Early Dismissal: School ends at 12:30 p.m.

·         Review WW 17E.  Begin 17B.

·         Complete Writing Snapshot #4.

·         Write a narrative.  Students will reflect on a time they made a bad decision, and how that changed their actions for the more positive in the future.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it.  Complete WW 17B.  Work on Lit Circle #3 Questions, due tomorrow.

 

Thursday, 2/26/15

Weiman – Library

·         Review 17B, and Complete 17D.

·         Lit. Circle #3 Meeting

·         Collect Lit Circle #3 Questions.

·         Read independently to self; meet with small groups as needed.

Work Stations

·         Work on Motivation Reading or Kamico, whichever ones students are assigned.

·         Work on ITW, Jr. Final Project.

·         Read independently to self.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it.  Finish WW 17D, and study for Wordly Wise QUIZ tomorrow. 

 

Friday, 2/27/15.

·         Collect exercises from the week and complete Wordly Wise Quiz 17.

 

·         Work on Major Battles of the Civil War PowerPoint.

·         Students will reflect on why victories for each side were important, as well as the timeline of the war.

Work Stations

·         Students will work on an assignment dealing with either comprehension, fluency, or expanding vocabulary.

·         Read independently to self.

·         Begin working on Lit Circle #4 questions.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it. Get Reading Log signed.
