 This week, we will:

 

Monday, 04/03/17

Furnari – Library

5th Grade GT Expo—9:00-10:00 a.m.

·          I will introduce Wordly Wise Unit 20 with a PowerPoint and discussion, and we will complete Exercise 20A.

·          Students will work on “solving” a mystery from history—how did the U.S.S. Maine sink?  Students will read different clue sets and develop a theory as to what it happened.

Into the Woods:

·          Correct Scene 1 Questions.

·          Begin reading Scene 2.

Work Stations

·          Finish “Sinking of the U.S.S. Maine” Theory Sheet.

·          Work on Wordly Wise 20A.

·          Work on Lit. Circle Assignment #2, due Thursday, April 13th.

HW: Read for 30 minutes, and complete WW 20A.

 

Tuesday, 04/04/17

·          We will correct WW 20A, and begin Exercise 20B.

·          Students will begin working on a web quest where they research different events related to Women’s Suffrage, and analyze how different viewpoints affect how the event is seen.

Into the Woods

·          Finish reading Scene 2.

·          Work on Scene 2 Questions.

Work Stations

·          Begin working on the “Age of Reform” questions and answers.

·          Complete Wordly Wise 20B.

·          Work on Lit. Circle Assignment #2, due Thursday, April 13th.

·          Act out Scene 2.

·          Finish and correct Scene 2 Questions.

Work Stations

·          Continue working on the “Age of Reform” questions and answers.

·          Work on Wordly Wise 20E.

·          Work on Lit. Circle Assignment #2, due Thursday, April 13th.

HW: Read for 30 minutes, and complete WW 20E.

 

Thursday, 04/06/17

·          We will correct WW 20E, grade, and begin Exercise 20D.

·          We will watch the first half of “Cities,” the next section of America: The Story of Us.  This section looks at urban growth, inventions, and important movements of the early 20th century.  As we watch, we will pause.  The students will answer questions, discussing as a table and a class.

Into the Woods:

·          Read Scene 3.

·          Begin Scene 3 Questions.

Work Stations

·          Complete “Age of Reform” questions and answers.

·          Work on Wordly Wise 20D.

·          Work on Lit. Circle Assignment #2, due Thursday, April 13th.

Friday, 04/07/17

Weiman—Library

·          We will correct WW 20D, grade, and turn in Wordly Wise Pages.

·          We will watch the second half of “Cities,” the next section of America: The Story of Us.  This section looks at urban growth, inventions, and important movements of the early 20th century.  As we watch, we will pause.  The students will answer questions, discussing as a table and a class.

Into the Woods:

·          Act out Scene 3.

·          Complete Scene 3 Questions.

Work Stations

·          Complete Wordly Wise Quiz 20.

·          Work on Lit. Circle Assignment #2, due Thursday, April 13th.

HW:  Read and Rest.
