This week, we will:

 

Monday, 4/11/16

Art Day

 

Weiman: Dr. Shetzer will be teaching about Immigration Issues and Urban Growth.

 

Furnari:

·         We will watch the next section of the documentary, which is called “Boom”.  It will look at the effect of oil on America, and the Prohibition era among other things.  As we watch, we will pause to discuss.

·         We will begin working on writing poetry in two voices.  Students will read examples of Two Voice poems, and will begin coming up with their own ideas.

Work Stations

·         Work on Seussical activities.

·         Work on Two Voice Poems.

·         Read quietly.

HW: Read 30 minutes.

 

Tuesday, 4/12/16

Furnari – Library

·         We will begin working on our first map region of the United States, the Southwest.  Students will fill out a map to study with, and will be quizzed on it on Friday.

·         We will correct “The Age of Reform” map skills packet.

·         Weiman: I will pass out the questions for the students newest Literature Circle Assignment.  It will be due on Tuesday, April 26th.

·         We will watch a BrainPop video about mythology and take the quiz.  Students will also begin learning how to write their name in Greek.

HW: Read 30 minutes.  Be prepared to share Seussical IIM Project idea tomorrow.

 

Wednesday, 4/13/16

Early Dismissal

·         Students will share their IIM Project Idea, and begin to form a plan for their research.  We will also review the answers to Scene 4 Questions.

·         Students will work on writing a poem in a style of their choosing. 

HW: Read 30 minutes.

 

Thursday, 4/14/16

Weiman—Library

Friday, 4/15/16

Staff vs. Student Kickball Game: 2:00-3:00 p.m.

 

Mythology (55): We will read and annotate a famous Greek myth.  We will discuss theme, plot diagram, and characterization.  Students will be allowed to act it out.

Work Stations

·         Complete the Southwest Map Regions Quiz.

·         Read quietly.

HW: Read and rest.
