Parents,

Please check your child’s conduct folder.  If your child has any signatures, either from the homeroom, or the magnet teacher, please sign on the signature line next to that entry.  When I checked conduct folders this week in both my AM & PM groups, quite a few students had teacher signatures but had not gotten their parents to sign their conduct folders. 

On a positive note, quite a few students had no teacher signatures in their conduct folder as well, and several students are racking up some Cougar Cash to spend on fun rewards!  J

We have run out of the following items recently:  tissues, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.  So, if you are able to send any of these items in, it would be greatly appreciated.

Library Day

·         Distribute TIME for Kids “Eye Opener” Magazine, Worksheet, and Magazine Quiz (due Friday 05/01/15)

·         Assign Lit. Circle Final Project – Book Talk & Design a T-Shirt (due Wed. 05/13/15).

·         Share & Collect Similes in Songs Projects.

·         Share & Collect Literature Circle 2-3, Literature Circle 2-4 due Tuesday, May 5th.

·         Review & Collect Write Source pgs. 73-78 on Using the Right Word from last week.

·         Assign Write Source pgs. 79-84 on Using the Right Word (due Wednesday, 04/29/15).

·         Finish working on Ch. 18 QUEST.

·         Conduct research as needed for IIM project.

HW:  Work on TIME for Kids, Write Source pgs., and ongoing projects.

 

Tuesday, 4/28/15

·         Review & Collect the Ch. 18 QUEST.

·         Watch America the Story of Us – Episode 9 – Bust, Pause, Discuss, & Answer Video Questions.

·         Continue to Share Similes in Songs Projects.

Work Station Groups (Small Group Instructional Time):

·         Work on TIME for Kids.

·         Work on Write Source pgs. 79-84.

·         Work on Literature 2-4.

·         Conduct research as needed for IIM project.

·         Work on Book Talk Outline/T-Shirt Design.

·         Istation as needed.

·         Read independently to self.

Wednesday, 4/29/15

P.E. Day

·         Review & Collect Write Source pgs. 79-84 on Using the Right Word.

·         Watch a BrainPop Video on Subject-Verb Agreement, pause, & discuss.

·         Assign Write Source pgs. 108-113 on Subject-Verb Agreement (due Friday 05/01/15).

·         Begin PowerPoint on the Great Depression and Causes of WWII.

·         Work on an IOWA Map Skills & Reference Materials Review Packet.

·         Review & Collect TIME for Kids Worksheet and Quiz.

·         Share “I Am” Poem Example.

·         Write “I Am” Poems using provided template and list of Adjectives of Personality – Poems will be compiled into a Class End of Year Poetry Book.

HW: Work on ongoing projects.
