This week, we will:

 

Monday, 10/26/15

Red Ribbon Week – International Outfits

Art Day

·         I will pass out weekly spelling word lists, and spelling work menus.

·         We will finish reading the “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” annotating as we read.  Students will then answer questions to ensure their comprehension, and will watch a 10 minute video to assist in comprehension.

·         I will use a PowerPoint to introduce “The Raven” poem vocabulary words, which will serve as our vocabulary unit this week.  Students will complete vocabulary activities related to these words.

·         We will take notes on Mood & Tone, watch a BrainPop video on Mood & Tone, and complete a practice activity, pausing to answer questions as needed.

Work Stations

·         Work on “The Raven” Vocabulary Activities.

·         Work on Weekly Spelling Work.

·         Work on IIM Project.

·         Read Literature Circle book, and work on questions (due Wednesday, 11/4).

HW:  Finish “The Raven” Vocab. Exercise 1.  Read for 30 minutes. 

 

Tuesday, 10/27/15

Red Ribbon Week – Pajama Day

Library – Furnari

·         We will correct “Raven” Vocab. Exercise 1, and begin Exercise 2.

·         We will watch a video reading of “The Raven” and will read the poem together, pausing to discuss, answer comprehension questions, and clarify misunderstandings.

·         Students will work on a Social Studies Textbook Scavenger Hunt to learn about the American Revolution.

Work Stations

·         Work on “The Raven” Vocabulary Activities.

·         Work on Weekly Spelling Work.

·         Work on IIM Project.

·         Read Literature Circle book, and work on questions (due Wednesday, 11/4).

HW: Finish “The Raven” Vocab. Exercise 2.  Read for 30 minutes. 

 

Wednesday, 10/28/15

Early Dismissal

Red Ribbon Week – Team Shirt/Jersey

·         We will correct “Raven” Vocab. Exercise 2, and begin Exercise 3.

·         We will finish and review “The Raven” Reading Comprehension Questions.

·         We will take notes on the important points of the Declaration of Independence, pausing to clarify and discuss as needed.

HW: Finish “The Raven” Vocab. Exercise 3.  Read for 30 minutes. 

 

Thursday, 10/29/15
Red Ribbon Week – Crazy Clothes

Library – Weiman

·         We will correct “Raven” Vocab. Exercise 3, and begin Exercise 4.

·         Students will complete a Declaration of Independence Activity, allowing them to focus on comprehension of the document’s important section.

·         Students will continue reading their Literature Circle Book and answering their Literature Circle Questions (due Wednesday, 11/4).

Work Stations

·         Work on “The Raven” Vocabulary Activities.

·         Work on Weekly Spelling Work.

·         Finish Revolution Textbook Scavenger Hunt.

·         Read Literature Circle book, and work on questions (due Wednesday, 11/4).

HW: Finish “The Raven” Vocab. Exercise 4.  Study for Spelling Test.  Read for 30 minutes.

 

Friday, 10/30/15

Red Ribbon Week – Book Character Parade - 8:15 am

·         We will correct “Raven” Vocab. Exercise 4, and turn in vocab. exercises for the week.

·         Students will complete an activity where they read and analyze poetry, and answer poetry comprehension questions.

Work Stations

·         Complete a Words Their Way Weekly Spelling Test, and turn in Weekly Spelling Work.

·         Complete Poetry Activity.

·         Finish Revolution Textbook Scavenger Hunt.

·         Read Literature Circle book, and work on questions (due Wednesday, 11/4).

HW:  Read & Rest.
