Monday, 12/05/16

IOWA Testing:

Magnet: 2:00-2:45 p.m.

Library – Furnari

·         We will review Wordly Wise 9E, which had students read a non-fiction passage and answer questions about it.

·         We will review the answers that students found while reading about the writing of the U.S. Constitution.  We will discuss important pieces of the U.S. Constitution and how it structured the federal government.

·         Students will work on their Classic Poetry Group Project poster which analyzes their poem and their presentation.

Students will begin to choose their next Literature Circle book.  They must decide by Thursday, 12/8.

Work Stations

·         Work on Wordly Wise (WW) 9D.

HW: Read for 30 minutes, and study for Wordly Wise Unit 9 QUIZ tomorrow.

 

Tuesday, 12/06/16

IOWA Testing:  

Magnet: 2:00-2:45 p.m. (Choir Concert)

Spirit Night: Los Tios (No Homework!)

·         We will review Wordly Wise 9D, and students will turn in Wordly Wise 9.

·         Students will learn about the Legislative Branch of the federal government.  We will discuss the bicameral structure and what the function of each house is.

·         Students will work on their Classic Poetry Group Project poster which analyzes their poem and their presentation.

Work Stations

·         Complete Wordly Wise Quiz 9.

Wednesday, 12/07/16

IOWA Testing:  

Magnet: 2:00-2:45 p.m.

·         I will introduce Wordly Wise List 10 to the students using a PowerPoint presentation.  They will complete 10A for homework, due Thursday.

·         Students will learn about the Judicial Branch of the federal government.  We will discuss the Supreme Court and what their function is.

·         Students will work on their Classic Poetry Group Project poster which analyzes their poem and their presentation.

Work Stations

·         Work on WW 10A.

HW: Read for 30 minutes.

 

Thursday, 12/08/16

Magnet: 2:00-2:45 p.m. (Magnet Program)

·         We will correct Wordly Wise 10A from their homework Monday. 

·         Students will learn about the Executive Branch of the federal government.  We will discuss the President and what the function of his cabinet is.

·         Students will complete their Classic Poetry Group Project poster which analyzes their poem and finish working on their presentation.

·         Students will begin to choose their next Literature Circle book.  They must decide by Thursday, 12/8.

Work Stations

·         Work on WW 10B.

HW: Read for 30 minutes.

 

Friday, 12/09/16

Library—Weiman

·         We will correct Wordly Wise 10B from their homework the previous day.  Students will begin Wordly Wise 10E, due Monday.

·         We will begin learning about the three branches of the federal government.

·         Students will turn in their Classic Poetry Group Project poster, and sign up for a presentation slot the following week.

·         We will review the three branches of the United States Government by completing a graphic organizer on the checks and balances system.

Work Stations

·         Work on WW10E.
