This week, we will:

 

Monday, 12/15/14

Furnari—Library

P.E. Day

·         Collect reading log from last week, and pass out new log.

·         Introduce Wordly Wise Unit 11 Vocabulary with a PowerPoint & discussion, and Begin WW 11A.

·         Watch “Show, Not Tell” Brain Pop video.

·         Discuss examples of doing this, have them work as a table.

·         Take the accompanying quiz.

·         As needed, review answers from Ch. 3 questions from Chocolate last week.

·         Continue reading The Story of Chocolate:

o   Read Ch. 4 The Cocoa Bean Harvest

o   Annotate & Highlight during reading.

o   Answer Ch. 4 Reading Comprehension Questions.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it, Istation (as needed).  Finish Wordly Wise 11A.

Tuesday, 12/16/14

·         Correct Wordly Wise 11A, and begin working on 11B and 11E.

·         Furnari: Complete Writing Snapshot #3, complete with Narrative Prompt.

·         Weiman: Watch “Westward” from America: The Story of Us.  Complete questions on viewing guide, and discuss answers when finished.

·         Continue working on Literature Circle Final Project, which is due on Friday.

·         Finish Ch. 4 Chocolate Questions as needed.

·         Work on Map Skills Worksheets for Social Studies.

·         Continue working on Plot Diagram of short story, due Friday.

·         Continue working on rough draft of short story, due Friday (for extra credit).

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it, Istation (as needed).  Finish Wordly Wise 11E.

Wednesday, 12/17/14

·  Correct Wordly Wise 11B & 11E, and begin working on 11D.

Computer Lab Day:  Furnari – 7:55-8:45 a.m.; 1:05-2:00 p.m.

Weiman – 8:50-9:40 a.m.; 2:00-2:55 p.m.
(Work on Rough Draft of Short Story)

·  Take Unit 11 QUIZ, and Collect Unit 11 Exercises.

·  Weiman: Peer review Narrative Writing from the day before.

·  Review Map Skills Worksheets.

·  Work on/Review Chocolate Ch. 4  Annotations and Questions as needed.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it, Istation (as needed). 

 

Friday, 12/19/14

Science Fair—8:00-9:00 a.m.

Winter Party—12:30-3:00 p.m.

·         Turn in Literature Circle Final Project, a Book Cover and a personal review written by the student.

·         Turn in Plot Diagram of Short Story.

·         Turn in Rough Draft of Short Story for Extra Credit.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it, Istation (as needed).  Get Reading Log signed.
