This week, we will:

 

Monday, 1/26/15

Science DLA

8:00 am-12:00 p.m.

Magnet: 2:00-2:45 p.m.

·         Pass out new reading log.

·         Introduce Wordly Wise Unit 14 Vocabulary with a PowerPoint & discussion, and Begin WW 14A.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it. Complete WW 14A.

 

Tuesday, 1/27/15

Furnari—Library

·         As needed, review WW Powerpoint. Review WW 14A.  Begin WW 14E.

·         Begin Causes of the Civil War PowerPoint.  Focus on Abolitionists and Conflicts in the North and South.

·         Review Textbook Scavenger Hunt as we talk about Causes of the Civil War.

·         Review Released STAAR Test, reviewing annotating, highlighting, and using other active reading and test-taking strategies.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it.  Complete WW 14E.

 

Wednesday, 1/28/15

Early Dismissal

·         Review WW 14E.  Begin WW14B.

·         Begin discussing drama as a genre.

·         Work through “Into the Woods, Jr.” together as a class, having students read for different parts.

·         Discuss items like stage directions, how characters portray their desires and conflicts, and plot diagram.

Workstation Groups

·         Complete questions based “Into the Woods, Jr.”, worked on during class time. 

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it.  Complete WW 14B.

 

Thursday, 1/29/15

Jump for Heart Kick-Off Assembly—9:00-9:45 a.m.

Weiman – Library

·         Complete, review, & collect Spelling Review Test.

·         Review WW 14B.

·         As needed, finish working with “Into the Woods, Jr”.

·         Begin Drama Motivation Reading, Unit 1.  Students will need to annotate and highlight, and answer questions.

Workstation Groups

·         Work on Motivation Reading, Unit 1.

·         Sustained Silent Reading (30 minutes).

·         Work on Lit Circle Assignment (due 2/4).

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it. Work on Motivation Reading, Unit 1.  Study for Wordly Wise QUIZ tomorrow.

 

Friday, 1/30/15.

·         Collect exercises from the week and complete Wordly Wise Quiz 14.

·         Continue Causes of the Civil War Quiz.

·         Work on Political Decisions & Abraham Lincoln, students will read up in their textbook and other materials.

HW:  Read 30 minutes & log it. Get Reading Log signed.
